Empowering women to experience untethered Joy, while honoring their commitment to their loved ones is the goal here! If you have found yourself feeling frustrated, stuck, or bored and perhaps you have felt that way so long, you feel helpless to make any change or experience pent up anger (hair trigger on your patience?). Here we seek ways to use joy, play, pleasure and adventure to make changes in your life, experiencing more Joy. This takes us down a path that explores our inner child and childhood programming, spiritual beliefs, and discovering what brings each of us joy. Then the fun part is getting the courage and curiosity in place to go do things that push you out of your comfort zone and make you grow, but also brings moments of victory and joy. We will discuss how we make time for this important part of our experience of this life, so it’s not filled with regrets when we get to the finish line and still be committed to being present for our family and friends.

Today's episode on Powered by Joy Podcast is all about tapping into your inner child and embracing more joy in your daily life. We often hear about the wounds and pains of our inner child, but today, we're focusing on the joy and pleasure they seek. I'll touch briefly on healing, but let's dive into the fun stuff!
Growing up, most of us had a natural curiosity and love for play. Remember those carefree days of exploration and endless imagination? As we got older, though, the joy of learning through play often faded. But it's time to bring it back!
Think about the activities that brought you joy as a child. Whether it was riding bikes, playing board games for hours, drawing, or playing the guitar, these are clues to what still brings you happiness.
We start with tangible, easy baby steps ideas to reconnect with your inner child and those retro-play activities. Schedule time for play on your calendar like you would any other important appointment making it a weekly or even daily practice. And don't be afraid to try new things – if it doesn't bring you joy, that's okay! The important thing is that you're listening to your inner child and making time for what brings you joy, pleasure and happiness. Don’t forget to also make time to go look for that photo from when you were little that shows you smiling and happy!
So grab your notebook, get ready to discover your favorite activities, some from childhood hopefully, and make a commitment to bring more joy into your life. Remember, life is meant to be powered by joy!

This episode introduces the idea that self care may not feel sexy, but when done on a regular basis, the results CAN be!
Just like in motorsports or many sports there is usually an on and off season. For me the season brings the most fun and play! Off season brings maintenance, less play and what I consider the more boring stuff that is necessary to have more fun when it’s GO time and the season starts back up. Off season is the learning, review, maintenance, practice, etc. Not nearly as much fun!
The same can be said for many other areas of our lives like relationships, business, finances, & health.
Starting back around 2013 I was fortunate enough to be invited to listen to an author speak. I had no idea what it was about, besides morning routines. The book being promoted was the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. He was hilarious, fun to listen to, I immediately read the book and started implementing. I started with the early 5am rise time and many years later embraced my body clock calls for a much different rise time. I have explored all sorts of different versions of a morning routine and came up with a self care ritual that works for me. It helps me be the best version of myself to meet the day ahead and be prepared for whatever ‘joyful surprises” meet me.
My self care steps that I engage in is usually 4-5 days a week at the least and have created the foundation for massive growth and abundance in my life. Many mornings I rise, I don’t “feel like” doing the steps, but I’ve been at it long enough to know how I feel is not the way to make my choices. If I skip more than 2 days (usually my weekends), by day 3 I start to feel the shift away from feeling my best physically, mentally and emotionally. This very last weekend proved this self care is not a maybe or should, IT IS a MUST! It’s amazing how quickly the fatigue, cloudy mind, crankiness, pain and crappy sleep come back to remind me it is a must.
You will find you need to be flexible and curious in developing this practice. Your schedule or a sick family member can quickly distract. One key question to ask yourself- How can I still get it done, even if in a modified version? Showing up is the point! If you show up more than you don’t, your identity starts to match these new choices. This episode is packed with practical tips to get started with baby steps.
Caring for the most basic and vital components of what makes you you (mind, body, spirit), might seem less important than everything else vying for your time. This is where you choose your hard. Choose the workout or poor health, choose healthier food or poor health, choose to have the hard conversation or poor relationships, and so on.
Key components we will cover:
-3 most important focuses of self care
-Breakdown of easiest way to start- baby steps
-How to step up an existing self care routine
-How to build a new habit
-Creating a new identity that embraces self care
-How to see the most success in creating change around self care
-Why try? Are you willing to die for your loved ones? What about living for them?
I also include my own self care ritual that makes me feel the most vitality, which allows me to experience and be ready for more joy and pleasure in my life. Here’s the link to my free download of my daily ritual I like to call my Sexy 6.

This episode is our first Meditation edition. This meditation ends with a powerful mantra that we all need to hear and anchor into our hearts.
We will take a journey together and see how we are not alone here in this world, we are so connected with everyone and everything around us. Our actions and thoughts don't just affect us, they have a ripple effect on those around us, and so on. Even when we feel lonely we are often having a very similar experience that many are having. We are often not as alone in our pain and worries, or our happiness and joy as we believe.
At the same time, we are solely responsible for our life experience ,our growth and connection with ourselves and others and the love and joy we can strive to experience.
This journey is often about coming to a place where we start to remember that no matter where we are at in our lives, our past does not have to define us or our future. Our choices don't have to define us, but they do affect our future.
We can choose to take time to sit quietly or take a walk in nature and do a meditation that reminds us of our worthiness. Out of all the billions of people on earth right now, you were created and came here to live this life. That in itself means you were valuable enough to just exist here at this time. It was not by accident, you were worthy when you arrived. We often forget and over time, due to painful circumstances, life experiences and society can steal the love, joy and worthiness right out of us.
So my hope is that when you listen and follow along with this meditation it will help you remember this truth.
I am Worthy and Enough, just as I am. I am Love and Loved just as I am.

In this episode of the "Powered by Joy" podcast, I invite listeners on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment through the simple yet profound act of pausing.
I begin by acknowledging the common struggles many of us (including myself) face: feeling stuck, frustrated, or overwhelmed, and yearning for a sense of joy and vitality. I introduce the concept of the pause as a transformative tool for navigating life's challenges with grace and intention.
Drawing from my own coaching journey with my insightful Coach Kamille, I reflect on the pivotal moment when I first encountered the idea of the power of the pause. I share about my initial resistance and eventual realization of the profound impact that pausing can have on our thoughts, words, and actions.
Throughout the episode, we explore the multifaceted nature of the pause, highlighting its role in self-awareness, emotional regulation, and conscious communication. Offering practical strategies for incorporating pauses into daily life, whether it's taking a mindful breath before responding to a challenging situation or setting boundaries to protect our energy.
I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and non-judgment as we navigate the journey of learning to pause and respond rather than react. Let’s try to reflect on your own experiences and identify moments where you can integrate the power of the pause to cultivate more joy and fulfillment.
In closing, I extend an invitation for you to join me in embracing the power of the pause and discovering the profound joy that comes from living with greater presence, intention, and self-awareness.

Today we are discussing the concept of "flow state" or "peak state," describing it as a state where often time flies, distractions decrease, and what you are working on becomes easier to focus on. Noting physical sensations like relaxation, warmth, and lack of tension in the body when in flow.
Acknowledging the opposite, not being in flow feels draining, tense, and distracting, with tasks feeling burdensome and time dragging on. Forever….sometimes.
The importance of noticing when we are in flow, and when we are not, to experience more of it. Consider setting intentions in the morning to pay attention to these states. Decide today to experiment with different activities and environmental factors to facilitate flow, such as listening to music, changing lighting, and engaging in physical movement. Starting with the small stuff can make a bigger impact over time.
Finally, commit to some "homework," encouraging yourself to set daily intentions to notice flow, try new or previously enjoyed (I like to call them retro-activities, things you may have enjoyed when you were younger) activities that bring joy, and reflect on your experiences regularly to cultivate more flow in your life.

In this episode, we explore the concept of honor, review current definitions and the prevalent ways in modern society it shows up. For instance, how individuals are often honored for external achievements, such as career success, financial status, appearance, and social media presence.
I share a personal story about dealing with neck pain and the importance of prioritizing self-care and self-honor. I reflect on a shift from negative self-talk to a more compassionate approach, encouraging you to recognize and celebrate small acts of self-love.
We conclude with an assignment, to reflect on instances of self-honor in the past week and set intentions for upcoming weeks. The emphasis is on cultivating a habit of self-honor through intentional awareness and positive reinforcement.
Overall, we focus on what revolves around honor, particularly self-honor, while offering practical insights and exercises for you to try to integrate into your life.

In this episode we draw parallels between life choices and decisions made on a racing simulator or a racetrack. An emphasis on the importance of practice and reflection in both scenarios. I reflect on how different individuals have varying approaches on the simulator, which can correlate with their decision-making styles in life.
She introduces the concept of two extremes - those who "send it" by making fast and impulsive decisions without considering the consequences, and those who are overly cautious and slow, often paralyzed by fear. Finding a balance, where you aim to stay in the middle by learning to add in caution, but making decisions to move forward.
We review the significance of reflecting on one's choices, learning from mistakes, and making incremental improvements. Try to observe your behavior without judgment, celebrate wins, and focus on making one small improvement at a time. A practice of celebrating wins and acknowledging progress helps to build positive neural pathways in the brain.
I share personal experiences of applying lessons from racing to real-life situations, such as the importance of not dwelling on mistakes and quickly moving on to the next positive choice. Celebrate your wins and not be too harsh on yourself for making mistakes, there is power in positive reinforcement in shaping behavior.

This episode of Powered By Joy Podcast, we're diving into the next step of your journey toward a joy-filled life. Reflecting on my own journey, I realized the need for permission to question my beliefs, especially about spirituality and my happiness. It's like a never-ending adventure with layers to peel back and more questions to explore.
Often, we're deeply rooted in our upbringing, making it challenging to consider other perspectives. But asking brave questions can lead to a transformative path. In my case, exploring spiritual topics that contradicted my Christian upbringing led to fear and secrecy.
I needed a non-judgmental friend to grant me permission to explore and question. If you're facing similar struggles, you're in the right place. My core belief is that God is Love, and compassion, not judgment, is the key. So, why not give yourself permission to embark on your own quest of love and joy?
During my exploration, I worried about others' opinions and became a bit of a closet meditator. Nights of strange experiences led me to seek grounding techniques and spiritual boundaries, topics we'll delve into in future episodes.
Giving yourself permission to explore tools like meditation, grounding, and more can transform your life. It's a journey of self-love and choosing joy over struggle. Feel free to jot down your questions and observations in a notebook. This is about exploring your heart and soul, granting yourself the time and care you deserve.
